After a hectic few weeks, I had to travel to Brussels on a relatively urgent business trip. I managed to get everything done on the first day, but was scheduled there for a few days. The following days saw more work, whereby I trained the IT staff, which I may add were very good. Usually you get a few guys that ‘know something’ but these guys were all on the ball and it made my task a lot easier.
I took a lot of photos especially in the ‘Big Square’ where there are loads of pubs where you can enjoy a few drinks at sunset. Of course I had to see the other attractions like Mannekin Pis. I also saw a fantastic painting on the side of a building of a Tintin scene. Of course, Brussels is a culinary paradise. You can find fine beef and seafood places. Many nights I was covered up to my elbows in seafood. Yum.

Just back from a corporate team building event. My body is aching where I didnt think I had muscles. Overall it was great fun. The day started off with canyoning. We all got kitted out with wetsuits, life preservers and helmets. Not quite the fashion statements but it was for our own safety.
The wetsuit I had on was very very tight. The highlights of the canyoning were the jumps off some cliffs. These were ranging from 30 foot to 40 foot. It was great fun. Leaps of faith.
We did a total of 3 jumps. The first jump was of a roughly 30 foot cliff. The second one was about 6 foot higher but from a different angle. The third jump was into a cravass with a deep pool. This was quite different as it was not very high, but you had to jump next the waterfall and gushing water. The currents were strong, but didn’t last very long. You can see all the pictures from the events here
The afternoon was spent riding the rapids in some rafts which was really good. Our raft were ‘attacked’ several times by other rafts.
Fortunately we were able to fight them off and flip them over. We did not make it to the end without incident either. We fell off several times, but we all worked well as a team and all were rescued. Some of the rapids were quite wild and caused some fantastic adrenalin rushes. The pictures for this are available here.
